“Adam’s Lament” by Arvo Pärt

On June 2, in the Transfiguration Cathedral was performed “Adam’s Lament”. It is a 2009 oratorio for mixed choir and string orchestra by Estonian composer Arvo Pärt on a text by Silouan of Athos in Church Slavonic. The performance became a state exam in the specialty “Conducting a concert program” graduate of the P. Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music Nazariy Tarasenko. He is the sub-regent of the Metropolitan Choir of the Transfiguration Cathedral, as well as the leader of the chamber choir “Sine Nomine”. Under his instrument, the work of the world-famous composer was performed by the choir of the National Academy of Music and the National Ensemble of Soloists “Kyiv Chamber”.
